Legal Resident Alien
I just finished doing my taxes. As usual, I have determined that I am an alien:
As I have learned this last year and a half the practical consequences of this are:
1. There are some companies (as banks and the good car rentals) that will not make bussines with me. I do not have a credit card, and there is a car parked in the physics department which I am not able to drive to do grocery shopping.
2. For my wife, the situation is even worse. She can not work, or study. She does not have a drivers license (or any ID). She does not even count for tax purposes.
Americans are afraid of losing their jobs to the "hordes" of immigrants comming to plunder on their their hard work. Our point is that with this policy they are hurting the people that is here legaly (us), to the point of turning us into non-persons, aliens. What is wrong with the "freedom" country?

Yo tenía (tengo) tarjeta de crédito -no tuve por mucho tiempo pero no me costó trabajo sacarla cuando me decidí- y el state id lo saqué llevando el pasaporte que decía que era un (alien) residente legal y nada más. ¿Ya no se puede sólo con eso?
Acuerdese que aquí hay mucha mas influencia de la imigracion ilegal, y es en general un estado mucho mas pobre y atrasado que ilinois. La unica "stateid" que existe es el pase.
Pero el problema de andrea es mucho más que eso. No tiene derecho a trabajar. Hasta ha sido víctima de acoso por la policía en las calles unicamente por el color de piel.

Yo tengo varias tarjetas (que nunca uso) pero igual que j. facilisimas de sacar. Credito abierto (con miles de ofertas). Tambien el pase lo saque como en 30 minutos. Que raro ese estado.
Me parece curioso que salga como legal resident. Es para los federales o los estatales? Para los federales yo sigo siendo non-resident alien, para estatales si soy resident. En caso de ser para los federales, si reviso bien la publicacion 519, seccion: Exempt individual. Ahi le dejo el link. Bye.
